United Way of St. Charles is in full response mode following the impacts of Hurricane Ida. In addition to collecting and distributing relief supplies, United Way is coordinating volunteer efforts throughout St. Charles Parish.

Part of United Way of St. Charles’ response will be accepting financial donations to support the immediate and long-term needs of residents. The UWSC Hurricane Ida Relief Fund received its first corporate donation from Dow in the amount of $100,000.

“St. Charles is our home, we live and work here. Hurricane Ida has heavily damaged our community and recovery from the storm will be a challenge we face together. We are only as strong as our community and Dow believes in working alongside our community partners to address the issues our friends and neighbors are facing. Through partnership, community collaboration and hard work we will rebuild together,” said Stacey Gautreau, U.S. Gulf Coast Public Affairs Director.

“We are so grateful to Dow for stepping up and helping our residents who were affected by Hurricane Ida’s devastation,” said John Dias, Executive Director for United Way of St. Charles. “In these challenging times, we can’t thank them enough for being a great neighbor and community partner.”
