United Way of St. Charles announced Friday, June 26, its 2026-2027 community investment of $1,299,900 to support 32 partner agencies serving residents throughout St. Charles Parish.
The funding represents an approximate 5% increase over the organization's 2025 community investment and will support programs focused on youth opportunity, community resiliency, financial stability, healthy communities and basic needs.
Through this investment, United Way of St. Charles helps fund critical services that improve the quality of life for residents, including free books for children from birth to age 5, meals for homebound seniors, emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, transportation for cancer treatments and many other essential programs.
"Every dollar invested represents the generosity of our community and our shared commitment to helping our neighbors thrive," said Kacy Kernan, Director of Community Impact for United Way of St. Charles. "These funds support programs that address some of the most pressing challenges facing St. Charles Parish residents and create lasting impact across our community."
The community investment process is conducted annually and includes a comprehensive review of funding applications submitted by local nonprofit agencies. Applications are evaluated by a Community Investment Committee and local volunteer reviewers who assess program effectiveness, community impact and alignment with the parish's most critical needs.
"The annual community investment review is one of the most rewarding parts of serving with United Way," said Dwayne LaGrange, Community Investment Chair for United Way of St. Charles. "It gives us the opportunity to learn about the needs of our community, evaluate effective solutions, and ensure that funding is directed where it can make the greatest difference. It's an educational process that is vital to strengthening St. Charles Parish."
The 2026-2027 community investment is made possible through donations raised during United Way of St. Charles' annual campaign, which is supported by businesses and employees throughout the parish. If you or your company would like to participate in the annual giving campaign, contact campaign manager Trista Brazan for more information.
United Way of St. Charles remains committed to bringing together people, resources and organizations to build a stronger, healthier and more resilient community for all.
