Shell Norco Supports Local Pandemic Relief Efforts, Donates $126,000 to UWSC

Shell Norco Manufacturing Complex has donated $126,000 to support United Way of St. Charles’ local pandemic relief efforts.

“Due to Covid-19 related economic impacts, we are seeing a significant increase in the volume of calls coming in for financial and food assistance,” says John Dias, United Way of St. Charles Executive Director. “We’ve also committed $66,000 to providing meal distributions to children in St. Charles Parish.”

“Without hesitation, Shell Norco has stepped up in a big way to assist with the increasing needs,” Dias continues. “The generosity they continue to show our community is a true reflection of their unwavering commitment to being a great neighbor.”

“Neighbors helping neighbors is the way Shell works,” says Shell Norco Interim General Manager Jack Holden. “It is so important to us to provide support especially in the community where we live and work. These are challenging times for all of us and it is important to work together to keep our community strong and healthy.”

“The funds received from Shell Norco will allow United Way to provide these additional community services and respond quickly as new needs arise during this unprecedented time,” Dias concludes.

As an annual United Way contributor, Shell Norco has also committed more than $1.1 million to United Way of St. Charles as part of the site’s 2019 HERO employee giving campaign.
