United Way of St. Charles (UWSC), in partnership with Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), announced plans to implement a Workforce Development and Small Business Training Initiative aimed at equipping residents of St. Charles Parish with the tools, knowledge and confidence needed to secure employment and build sustainable income through entrepreneurship.
Beginning August 2026, CCANO will host monthly “Lunch & Learn” sessions at accessible locations throughout St. Charles Parish. Each “standalone” session will last 90 minutes and will focus on practical, easy-to-understand topics designed to support workforce readiness and small business development.
With that goal in mind, participants will gain practical job readiness skills, develop basic business plans and marketing strategies, and increase employment and income-generating opportunities.
Participants will receive a complimentary meal at each session, along with printed training materials and handouts for continued use. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle featuring eight gift cards per session to encourage engagement and retention.
Each session will include structured instruction, interactive activities, and open discussion with opportunities for questions and answers.
