What is the Utility Assistance Program Powered by Entergy?

Entergy Louisiana and United Ways across the state are partnering to provide $100 utility bill credits to eligible households facing financial hardship. The program is funded by a $2 million investment from Entergy Louisiana.

Funding is limited and expected to be exhausted quickly. Submitting an application does not guarantee assistance.

When will applications open?

Applications open Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at 9 a.m. 

Eligible residents are encouraged to prepare their required documents in advance and apply promptly.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a residential Entergy Louisiana customer
  • Be the Entergy account holder or an authorized user on the account
  • Meet the household income guidelines based on the Louisiana ALICE Household Survival Budget
  • ALICE Income Guidelines
    • Household Size 1-- $30,708
    • Household Size 2-- $45,612
    • Household Size 3-- $73,008
    • Household Size 4-- $88,068
    • Household Size 5-- $109,248
    • Household Size 6-- $126,228
  • Residency: Must reside in St. Charles Parish
  • Entergy residential customers outside of our service-area, please contact your local United Way.

Documentation

(Applicants will be required to upload documents.  These file types are accepted: .txt .jpg .tif .png .pdf .doc .docx .xls .xlsx  )

  • Photo ID (driver’s license or state-issued ID, passport)
  • Your most recent Entergy Louisiana bill
  • Proof of Income options (choose one)
    • First page of 2025 tax return for all income earners in household over 18
    • 2025 W2 for all income earners in household over 18
    • Last paystub for all income earners in household over 18
    • Social Security Administration 1099 or 1042-S form

How It Works

  • Fill out the application online form and upload supporting documents (don't forget to click the submit button!)
  • United Way will review your application and get back to you within 10 business days.
  • Approved applications will receive a $100 credit on their Entergy Louisiana bill.
