TIME:                    8:30 a.m.

6:30AM:             Race day registration and packet pickup opens (West Bank Bridge Park, Luling)

8:30AM:             Start of 5K Run/Walk (East Bank Bridge Park, Destrehan)

                          Start of 10K Run (East Bank Bridge Park, Destrehan)

                        *10K race open to runners only. Minimum pace of 14:00 per mile.*

** This Race will NOT be Chip Timed**

COURSE:

The 5K & 10K courses offer a panoramic view from atop the Hale Boggs Mississippi River Bridge. The 10K course has changed this year and will start at the East Bank Bridge Park and continue onto the West Bank Levee.  10K course will finish on top of the West Bank levee path. The United Way Bridge Run is the largest road race across the Mississippi River in the nation.

*Should the weather or other safety concerns warrant, an alternate ground level course on the west bank will be used. In event of extreme circumstances, the race may be cancelled or postponed and the “no refund” policy will be applied.

DIRECTIONS:

East Bank Bridge Park (Destrehan) from I-10, take I-310 south to Destrehan exit (Exit #6).

     Bridge Park is underneath the Hale Boggs Bridge.

West Bank Bridge Park (Luling) cross the bridge, take first exit on bridge to ground level.  Bridge Park is at intersection with River Road.

 

PARKING:

All participants are suggested to park in the St. Charles Parish School Board office lots on Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway or at the West Bank Bridge Park (west side lot). Participants parking on the East Bank can use Harry Hurst Middle School and St. Charles Borromeo School parking lots.  Participants parking near the East Bank Bridge Park must have their race number with them.

 

TRANSPORTATION: FREE

Pre-race 6:30AM-7:45AM (please arrive on time), departing from West Bank Bridge Park to start at East Bank Bridge Park

** Race will begin at 8:30a.m.

Post race buses depart from 9:45AM-noon, back to East Bank Bridge Park

*Participants must have race number to ride bus*

PACKET PICK-UP & LATE REGISTRATION INFO:

Pre-race packet pickup & registration will be available on Friday, March 31st from 5PM to 7PM at the West Bank Bridge Park (Luling).

Day of race registration and packet pickup begins at 6:30AM at the West Bank Bridge Park (Luling). Please arrive early in order to process and allow time for bus transportation.

 

TEAM CHALLENGE:

The company with the most pre-registrants (March 24th) in the race will be awarded the “Team Challenge” Trophy. Please denote your company name on registration form & when registering online.

 

T-SHIRTS:

Commemorative t-shirts will be given out at the pre-race packet pickup event and on the day of race at the West Bank Bridge Park. Please keep race number/t-shirt tab until claiming t-shirt.

SCORING: (NEW FOR 2017)

This event will not be chip timed. There will be no scoring for the 5K or 10K. Digital clocks will be available at the finish for both 10K and 5K. The 10K will remain a Cresent City Classic qualifier race. We will manually score all those finishing the 10K in 50 minutes or under. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10k. 

5K course record bonus: $500 to the winning male or female setting a new course record

POST RACE ACTIVITIES & REFRESHMENTS:

Fun activities for families and children

Music by “DJ Delerio” on stage

Food and refreshments including Bud Light Beer, Kentwood Springs Water, Coca-Cola, Jambalaya by Cornerstone Chemical Company
