TIME:

 

6:30AM:             Race day registration and packet pickup opens (At the West Bank Bridge Park, Luling)

8:15AM:             Start of 10K Run (The Seafood Pot, 14386 River Road, Destrehan)

                             *10K race open to runners only. Minimum pace of 13:00 per mile.*

8:40AM:             Start of 5K Run/Walk (East Bank Bridge Park)

Race Day Packet Pickup:   West Bank Bridge Park, 13825 River Road, Luling

5K Start:                              East Bank Bridge Park, 9762 River Road, Destrehan

10K Start:                            Levee Path across from The Seafood Pot, 14386 River Road, Destrehan

Finish:                                   West Bank Bridge Park, 13825 River Road, Luling

 

COURSE: 

The 5K & 10K courses offer a panoramic view from atop the Hale Boggs Mississippi River Bridge. The 10K course passes 2 historical plantation homes (Ormond & Destrehan Plantations) as well as the oldest continuous Catholic church in Louisiana (St. Charles Borromeo). The United Way Bridge Run is the largest road race across the Mississippi River in the nation.

*Should the weather or other safety concerns warrant, an alternate ground level course on the west bank will be used. In event of extreme circumstances, the race may be cancelled or postponed and the “no refund” policy will be applied.

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

East Bank Bridge Park (Destrehan) from I-10, take I-310 south to Destrehan exit (Exit #6).

     Bridge Park is underneath the Hale Boggs Bridge.

 

West Bank Bridge Park (Luling) cross the bridge, take first exit on bridge to ground level.

     Bridge Park is at intersection with River Road.

 

Destrehan (10K Start): On River Road (Hwy 48) across from the Seafood Pot.

* Please plan arrival on East Bank (start side) prior to 8:00AM as bridge exit lane closes at 8:10am*

 

 

PARKING:

All participants are suggested to park in the St. Charles Parish School Board office lots on Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway or at the West Bank Bridge Park (west side lot). Participants parking near the East Bank Bridge Park must have their race number with them. Parking will not be available at the 10k start or within the East Bank Bridge Park.

 

TRANSPORTATION: FREE

Pre-race 6:30AM-7:45AM (please arrive on time), departing from West Bank Bridge Park

Post race buses depart from 9:45AM-noon, back to East Bank Bridge Park

PACKET PICK-UP & LATE REGISTRATION INFO:

 

Pre-race packet pickup & registration will be available on Friday, March 27th from 5PM to 7PM at the West Bank Bridge Park (Luling).

Day of race registration and packet pickup begins at 6:30AM at the West Bank Bridge Park (Luling). Please arrive early in order to process and allow time for bus transportation.

 

TEAM CHALLENGE:

The company with the most pre-registrants (March 23rd) in the race will be awarded the “Team Challenge” Trophy. Please denote your company name on registration form & when registering online.

 

T-SHIRTS:

Commemorative t-shirts will be given out at the pre-race packet pickup event and on the day of race at the West Bank Bridge Park. Please keep race number/t-shirt tab until claiming t-shirt.

"Workout Wear" Costume Contest Awards will be given to best individual & group costume. Winners will be announced at the post race event.

 

POST RACE ACTIVITIES & REFRESHMENTS:

Food and refreshments including Michelob Ultra Beer, Kentwood Springs Water,

Coca-Cola, Jambalaya by Cornerstone Chemical Company (2012 Battle for the Paddle People’s Choice Winner)
