Serving an organization that in turn serves our community is a privilege,” stated Gomez-Walker, Superintendent of St. Charles Parish Public Schools. “I look forward to working as a team with Heather Lyons from Dow and Travis Chiasson from Norco Manufacturing Complex to facilitate a successful campaign."

United Way of St. Charles conducts a fundraising campaign every fall to develop resources that help support agencies and programs providing direct services in St. Charles Parish. The United Way Campaign is held during the months of September through December.

“It is my privilege to serve as the United Way of St. Charles Campaign co-chair this year. I am excited about sharing what I have learned about United Way and the partner agencies that work to improve the lives of the people living in St. Charles Parish,” stated Chiasson, Norco Manufacturing Complex-St. Rose Refinery Production Unit Manager. “I am also looking forward to learning from the many talented and generous people that live, work and support United Way in St. Charles Parish.”

The campaign officially kicks off with the 2014 Battle for the Paddle Gumbo & Jambalaya Cook-off on October 2, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. The popular event is held at the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling and is open to the public.

“The strength of the United Way comes from the unity of each individual volunteer, recipient, and contributor. It is my pleasure to serve St. Charles Parish this year as the United Way Campaign co-chair as we focus on channeling that strength into a successful campaign to benefit our community,” stated Lyons, Dow St. Charles Operations Associate Production Director.
