Cornerstone Chemical Company receives United Way honors

United Way of St. Charles Executive Director, John Dias, presented various awards to Cornerstone Chemical Company on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.




“We are excited to present Cornerstone with several honors, including the Community Leadership Award. This award is given to the top 5 companies with the highest per capita employee giving,” said Dias.


Other awards presented to Cornerstone were the Outstanding Community Partnership Award for a high percentage of employee participation and the Good Neighbor Award recognizing companies with the most employees giving at the $500 or more level. Cornerstone is also one of the top 10 overall United Way of St. Charles campaigns.


“We are pleased to be recognized by the United Way and, through our employees’ generosity, strive to be recognized as a good corporate neighbor in the community,” said Cornerstone Human Resources Director David Schnake.


“Cornerstone is an excellent example of a company who is actively making a difference in St. Charles Parish. Through their support of the United Way, we are able to create lasting changes in our community that everyone can see,” stated Dias.


Cornerstone Chemical Company, formerly Cytec Industries, is located in Waggaman and has been in operation since 1954.


Valero St. Charles Refinery, Norco Manufacturing Complex, Dow St. Charles Operations, Entergy Waterford III, Monsanto, St. Charles Parish Public Schools, OxyChem, Archer Daniels Midland Company, and Momentive were also recognized at the recent United Way Victory Celebration as top 10 overall campaigns.
