United Way of St. Charles Announces New Volunteer Coordinator

United Way of St. Charles is excited to announce Kelsey Matthews as their new Volunteer Coordinator.

Matthews began work with UWSC on January 26, 2015. In her new role, she is responsible for recruiting individuals and groups from the community who wish to volunteer and connect them to the needs of United Way and their local partner agencies.

Through a grant from the Dow Foundation, Kelsey will also provide support for volunteer activities at Dow’s St. Charles Operations. She will work to identify and manage volunteer projects that align with Dow’s community success strategy which is to leave a positive impact on every community in which they operate.

Matthews is a graduate of Destrehan High School as well as University of New Orleans. During her time at U.N.O. she was involved in several volunteer and mentor based organizations.

“It is an honor to be working for an organization that does such great things for our parish. I am eager to educate the community of St. Charles Parish about the many benefits of volunteerism. My goal is to continue strengthening our community through the time and service dedicated by our volunteers,” said Matthews.
