Community Involvement Informational Fair Planned for St. Charles Parish, Presented by RSVP and United Way of St. Charles
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of the River Parishes and United Way of St. Charles are hosting the St. Charles Community Involvement Informational Fair on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 2-6pm at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center in Luling.
St. Charles Parish residents of all ages are invited to attend the fair to learn about becoming more involved in the community. Representatives from ARC of St. Charles, St. Charles Parish Hospital Auxiliary, Child Advocacy Services, St. Charles Parish TRIAD, Special Olympics and other local agencies will be available to share information regarding community involvement and volunteer opportunities within their organizations.
“The purpose of the St. Charles Community Involvement Informational Fair is to educate St. Charles Parish residents of the many opportunities they have to get involved in their community and make an impact through volunteerism. United Way and RSVP are excited to present this event to showcase that volunteering in the community can make a difference at any age,” stated Kelsey Matthews, United Way of St. Charles Volunteer Coordinator.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for volunteer programs at RSVP and United Way. Light refreshments will be served.
Throughout the event, participating agencies will have the opportunity to film a short video clip with the St. Charles Parish Public Information Office in order to promote their organizations. Agencies interested in participating must complete the pre-registration form by August 5th.
