Over 2,400 runners and walkers participated Saturday, March 28, 2015, in the 19th Annual United Way of St. Charles 5K/10K Bridge Run/Walk presented by Norco Manufacturing Complex and co presented by Valero St. Charles Refinery.
“We are incredibly excited with this year’s record breaking Bridge Run attendance. The weather was wonderful, and all participants were able to enjoy the beauty of St. Charles Parish from atop the Hale Boggs Bridge,” stated John Dias, United Way of St. Charles Executive Director. “Our commemorative medals were once again a favorite, and we were thrilled to be able to offer them to all racers again this year.”
Ian Carr was the first to finish the 5K race with a 17:05 time. Joining Carr in the 5K men’s division top three were Nate Castillo and Matt Vanamburg.
Jaime Sauer took first place in the 5K women’s division with a time of 19:56. Jennifer Steib and Alisha Marshall placed second and third.
Winners of the 10K event were Byron Adams in the men’s division with a time of 37:19 and Catherine Williams in the women’s division with a time of 43:21.

For the third year in a row, Anytime Fitness took home the coveted award for most participants, with over 320 team members.
Race participants were provided with post-race entertainment including live music by Reese Chaisson, food, refreshments, massages, and much more.
United Way of St. Charles would like to thank its sponsors, vendors and volunteers who helped make this event a huge success. The funds raised by this event will be used to provide support to local agencies and programs targeting the areas of education, income, and health.
