Did You Know?
Did you know United Way of St. Charles provides one-time grants to Community Partners throughout St. Charles Parish? Previous grants include Destrehan High & Hahnville High Schools' Promapaloozas, German Coast Farmer's Market, St. Rose Elementary Pre-K Literacy Camp, and many others.
In April 2017, United Way awarded a $8,000 grant to SELA Warriors Elite, a travel basketball club for boys ages 8-17 years old. The SELA Sports Education Program uses basketball as a vehicle to teach young men discipline, teamwork, accountability, and integrity. Many of the children the program embraces come from difficult home circumstances.
United Way also awarded grants in April to the St. Charles Senior Citizens Club, an organization promoting socialization and wellness for local senior citizens, as well as the River Road Historical Society in support of its Destrehan Plantation Spring Heritage Day.
United Way of St. Charles is proud to provide over $2.7 million to local agencies and programs throughout St. Charles Parish annually.
