United Way of St. Charles Success By 6® program sponsored a six hour training for childcare educators on March 4, 2010 at the United Way office in Luling.
Attendees were trained on the “All About Preschoolers” curriculum that is designed to develop preschool classrooms where children are accepted for what they can do when they can do it.
“United Way of St. Charles is proud to be able to provide such a comprehensive training for childcare educators to help continue developing quality childcare centers in our parish,” stated Kacy Kernan, UWSC Director of Community Impact.
The training was provided at no cost to area childcare center directors. Of the 26 registered childcare centers in St. Charles Parish, 18 centers were represented at the training. Each attendee received six hours of certification, the “All About Preschoolers” curriculum and $500 worth of supplies for their respective centers.
This childcare center training is step one in the 2010 Success By 6® Action Plan. The SB6® Action Plan also includes immunization days, a health awareness fair, and the Imagination Library, which provides free books every month to children age birth to five.
Success By 6® is a United Way of St. Charles community impact program that works to provide all children in St. Charles Parish with high quality, early learning opportunities to help prepare them to succeed in school any beyond.
