- UWSC Offers Long Term Financial Assistance Program

The statistics are startling- as many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough money to meet their basic needs.  These individuals are walking a financial tightrope- barely able to get by, with no ability to save for college, a home or retirement.

United Way of St. Charles offers a Money Matters: Financial Stability Program that helps lower-income individuals and families achieve financial independence by providing them with tools and skills necessary to maximize their income, build savings and gain assets.

The goal of the UWSC Money Matters program is to address the on-going needs of individuals in St. Charles Parish to help them attain greater self-sufficiency and independence.

The program partners those in need with a long-term Community Case Manager who works to assess their needs and develops goals to reduce their dependence on emergency financial assistance.

Through a partnership with Catholic Charities and other local agencies, the UWSC Money Matters program can help with needs such as employment, housing, budgeting, food, education, mental health and more.
