Enter the Battle and win the Paddle!
This event is designed to heighten awareness of the 2010-2011 United Way of St. Charles Campaign. This is a fun, family event that invites teams from businesses and industries from across the region to compete for the titles of "Best Jambalaya" and "Best Gumbo".
Any team who wants to try to win the paddle is invited!
Open to the Public
$5.00 entry fee, all you want to eat! ($1.00 soft drinks and $2.00 beer)
There will be live music from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Participation Fee:$50 per team
Four participation gifts for each team are included.

2009 Event Timeline
Teams setup their own tents 8:00 am -10:30 am
Contestants Begin Cooking 11:00 am - 3:45 pm
Judges Arrive 3:30 pm
Cooking Completed 3:45 pm
Judging Occurs 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Serve Gumbo / Jambalaya 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Ceremony / Award Prizes 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
DeadlinePeople’s Choice ballots 6:30 pm
Announce People’s Choice award 7:00 pm
Event ends/ Clean Up 7:30 pm - until
1st place team in Gumbo and Jambalaya win the Battle and take the Paddle!
All awards will be posted on our website and sent to area media.
